The Camp with a Difference
Unlike other camps, we take the focus off weight loss and spotlight your child's personal development. We believe changing old habits into positive behaviors is far more important than numbers on a scale. In our highly personalized, fun-filled, supportive environment campers discover the great outdoors, a healthy sense of self-esteem, and an understanding of the skills necessary to take control of their lives.

At Camp Empire Lake, we teach campers basic nutrition principles: eating a diet rich in healthy whole grains, dairy, meat, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats. Three wholesome, filling, delicious meals are served every day plus, two healthy snacks, for a daily calorie count of 1600-1800.

Camp Empire Lake has all the activities of a premium traditional summer camp including Adventure sports, team sports, water action, creative workshops, and field trips. Just a few of the activities campers can participate in include film making, photography, ropes courses, kayaking, swim lessons, aerobics, pilates, yoga, baseball, football, and hockey.

Camp Empire Lake is located in Strafford, Vermont, population around 1,000, at the edge of the Green Mountains. Strafford is 12 miles from South Royalton VT, home of the Vermont Law School, as well as 13 miles from Hanover, NH, home of Dartmouth University.
Strafford is also approximately 2.5 hours from Boston, MA; 3 hours from Montreal, QC; 4 hours from New York City, 2.5 hours from Hartford, CT, and 1.5 hours from Burlington, VT.

Camp Director - Keith Zucker
Keith Zucker is a former camper, a parent and the owner and director of Camp Empire Lake.  Keith and his team of highly qualified directors have years of weight loss expertise, but their personal weight loss accomplishments make them truly extraordinary. Keith first attended weight loss camp at the age of 7. After 10 summers, he became a counselor, at the age of 22 became the owner and director of one of the most successful weight loss camps in America.

Keith used his camp experiences to transform the old camp philosophy of quick weight loss, to his proven method - total lifestyle change. With more than 15 years of operating success, Keith has become an acknowledged expert on overweight youth. He's written an instructional book for parents of overweight children and has been featured on 20/20, the Today Show and Good Morning America, and by USA Today and The New York Times.
