Camp Friendship's traditional summer camp program has over 50 activities to choose from, allowing each camper to develop an individualized program. Activities such as swimming, horseback riding, drama, ropes corse, tennis gymnastics, archery, riflery, fishing, canoeing, photography, pottery, dance, general sports, biking and give each camper the opportunity to create a summer of fun and excitement that only he or she can dream of.

Campers can mix and match session weeks in Junior and Senior Village with Sports Clinics (Tennis, Golf, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Waterskiing) and 8 awesome Challenge Adventure trips (caving, canoeing, rock climbing, white water rafting, horseback trail riding, kayaking and combo).

Camp facilities feature lakes for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking, swimming pools, tennis courts, gymnastics center, 80-horse equestrian center, mountain board course, riflery and archery ranges, sports fields and gymnasiums for a variety of sports (including fencing), a low and high ropes course, 2 1/2 miles of river frontage on the Rivanna River for tubing and canoeing, and an 18-hole golf course.

Our Adventure camp features Challenge trips that teach skills and foster self-achievement for each individual as well as promote a sense of accomplishment through team building.

All Challenge trips begin with an orientation at Camp Friendship designed to build group unity and confidence. The Ropes and Initiative Course is used by trained instructors to guide group members through a series of events among the carefully constructed ropes, walls, cables and beams. Included in each orientation is instruction in emergency procedures, safety techniques, minimum impact camping and the skills applicable to each trip.

After completing basic orientation in camp, challenge campers travel on to out-of-camp based sites located near the featured challenge activity. It's campsites and adventure from here on! While on most of the trips, group members practice self-reliance by using trail tents and preparing their own food. Campers return to camp Friendship on Friday for discussion and shared experiences.
