Job Description

Radio Instructors teach individual and group classes in radio based on
camper interest, develop ideas for radio shows with campers, and help
campers organize and produce their own radio shows.

Camper radio shows are broadcast live during activity periods, and
recorded for re-broadcast during cabin times using a short-range FM
radio transmitter. Radio staff also organize and direct our 'dj dances'
during the summer, teaching campers live dj skills and coordinating a
full evening of music.

Radio instructors are also cabin counselors (see benefits section).

Benefits:

Staff members are employed for 7 weeks plus 1 week orientation. Staff
members can draw on their earned salary at any time. Room and board
are provided, and it is quite possible to live at camp all summer
completely expense free.

All staff members attend a complete orientation before camp begins.
Staff members receive 1 day off per week and every other night off. All
camp facilities are available to staff members during their time off,
except horseback riding. The food is excellent for omnivores and
vegetarians alike. On-campus facilities specificallly for staff members
include laundry, computers, e-mail, a phone, and a comfy lounge with
a TV/VCR, refrigerator, pool table, and more.

Most teaching staff members are also cabin counselors. Cabin
counselors live with at least one other staff member and 10-14
campers. Ballibay is an activity-oriented camp; staff members spend
only 2.5 hours each day with their cabin groups and 5.5 hours a day in
specialty areas working with motivated campers.

Company/Organization Information

The Ballibay Camps are a group of fine and performing arts summer camp
programs for boys and girls ages 6-16, established in 1964. We offer
exciting programs in Music, Visual Arts, Dance, Theatre, Radio, Video,
and Sports in a non-competitive environment. We are located on beautiful
200-acre mountaintop campus in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
