Tamwood International Camps - ESL Programs

Learn English and so much more in Canada

Tamwood's international ESL summer camps combine English classes with instructional and recreational activities, sightseeing tours and social and cultural events.

The goals of this program are to teach students English, to educate them about the world through integration with students and staff of different cultures, to raise their awareness of international issues, to teach them valuable skills that will last their lifetime and give them a wonderful and memorable experience.

All aspects of the program including the English classes, activities, tours, meals and accommodation, are designed to ensure that these goals are achieved.

English Program
 * 3 hours/day of English instruction, 5 days/week
 * Small classes (maximum 15 students per class)
 * English classes rotate from morning to afternoon on a weekly basis.
 * Initial placement test and regular evaluations are given to ensure students are at the correct level.
 * Curriculum designed to be challenging but also interesting for young people

Exciting Activities
When students are not in class they are taking part in lots of fun activities.  Instructional activities include kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, field sports, tennis, arst and crafts, dance and drama. All activities are lead by qualified staff.  In certain weeks, campers have the option to pay for special activities including ski/snowboarding on the glacier in Whistler,  horse back riding and white water rafting.

Excursions
Every week students take part in one full day and at least one half day excursion.  Depending on the camp location, the excursions will include sightseeing to Niagara Falls, Victoria City on Vancouver Island, the CN Tower in Toronto, professional baseball games, amusement parks, beaches and conservation areas and so much more.

Teachers and Staff
All of the staff working at the Tamwood summer camp programs have been carefully selected for their enthusiasm, skills, experience and maturity. The English teachers are all qualified and experienced teachers.

Tamwood International Camps has been operating an international summer camps in Canada since 1993.
Campers come from many countries including Canada, USA, Mexico, Germany, France, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil, Korea, and Italy.
