Cultural Institute of America was developed to provide teens with culturally enriched programs that allow the teens to build leadership qualities and self-esteem while broadening their horizons and creating life-long friendships without boarders.

Christmas Wish Program, Inc., is a nonprofit organization run 100% by volunteers to enhance the lives of homeless children throughout the year with interactive life-changing programs.

Collaborating together, CIA and CWP have designed a teen adventure summer camp; Project Hawai’i. Project Hawai’i allows the teens to explore the adventures of the Hawaiian islands while immersing in the culture and making a difference in the lives of homeless children. Teens will mentor a homeless child (camp buddy) throughout the scheduled itinerary that is geared to improve the self-esteem and help the buddies make healthier life choices. Summer Camp activities include science projects, environmental nature trails, sports and team projects, as well as reading and arts. Teens will work hands-on to implement the daily activities with the same buddy throughout the camp to allow for a stronger bonding relationship. Teens will earn 200 hours of community service in leadership, mentoring, project planning, marketing, supportive services and curriculum implementation.

CULTURAL ADVENTURES will include exploring the wonders of 3 Hawaiian islands and 13 different climate ranges. Tours include an Authentic Hawaiian luau, Polynesian Fire Dance Show, Hiking the Kilauea Volcano, and Eco-Adventures that will teach the teens about the fragile eco system that Hawai’i faces. Every teen will be able to learn a new Hawaiian skill, like Hula, or playing Ukulele, even how to weave ti’ leaves, and make plumeria lei. Our camp councilors are all from the islands, and this assures that teens will see Hawai’i the way it was meant to be, not from a tourist eye.

WHAT ABOUT FUN, you ask???... there is so many fun adventures planned to excite all your senses, from snorkeling with honu (Hawaiian sea turtles), surf lessons, exploring waterfalls by horseback, to eating lunch with the dolphins, or zipping through the tropical jungles miles above the trees. Teens will explore the wonders of our sand beaches made from the volcanic stones. Sand that comes in all colors, black, green and white pebbles. Walking barefoot along the white sand beaches of the famous Waikiki Beach all while leaving footprints that are worth following.  Of course everyday will be fun, but this is the Super Fun stuff!!

HUNGRY TEENS will not be disappointed with all that the islands have to offer. Known for the tropical fruits and exotic foods, the menu will have a variety of local foods to tempt everyone’s taste buds. From papaya, mangos, coco-candy, to loco mocos, or spam musubi, teens will have a full array of taste temping options. Of course we will provide all the “typical” foods as well.

Best Exeperience of my LIFE!!
This was the BEST summer of my life. Of all the summer camps I have attended, this was the most rewarding. I learned so much about the Hawaiian culture, and even how to surf on the first day.
I will never forget my camp buddies!! I write them all the time. I also made new friends from all over the US.
I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to make a difference in others lives.
