For more than 30 summers, talented and enthusiastic teenagers artists have had the opportunity to spend a few weeks at The Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport, Maine studying and working within a specific medium of communications arts. There are workshops in traditional darkroom photography, filmmaking and digital video, film acting, digital photography, comic book storytelling, screenwriting Final Cut Pro Editing, 3D digital animation. You can even spend a week kayaking and exploring the ecology of the Maine Coast, camping on islands and photographing your experience.
This special "Summer Camp" for talented high school students is an opportunity to work alongside some of the world's most respected visual artists, Academy and Emmy Award-winning filmmakers and photographers. Teens learn to be creative as they learn the craft and build a body of personal work. It is a valuable experience and one that each student will never forget! This is also a marvelous way to create a portfolio or reel for college admissions.
Each workshop is led by an experienced professional/teacher and an assistant and uses the latest technology and equipment.
