Campus Life
July Experience students live on single-sex corridors in a co-ed residence hall.  All college buildings, including residence halls, are air-conditioned.  Students take meals in the Vail Commons dining facility and have full access to the E. H. Little Library.  The Alvarez College Union, Baker Sports Complex, and nearby Lake Campus are centers for recreational and group activities.

Hall Counselors are upper class students chosen from the Davidson College student body. Hall Counselors assist students in any way possible and are responsible for ensuring that students are aware of and abide by the rules of the program.

The program is designed for mature, responsible, and academically motivated rising high school juniors and seniors capable of self-discipline.

The Honor Code
July Experience students take full responsibility for upholding the Davidson College Honor Code, which states:

What Others Have Said

"July Experience was the perfect balance of 'work hard, play hard.' By day, we worked hard to complete our class assignments, and by night, we bonded with fellow students through fun activities or a field trip off campus. The weekends were the best. Between hanging out at Davidson's lake campus, volunteering at a local children's center and rafting at the U.S. National Whitewater Rafting Center, there was never a shortage of exciting things to do."
- David, Charlotte, NC (has applied early decision)

"July Experience really helped to cement the idea that Davidson was the perfect place for me. When I arrived on campus freshmen year there were no surprises. I knew where the cafeteria was, how to use the free laundry facilities, and the best ways to get to the lake campus - all the essentials for life at Davidson. But the most rewarding part was that on the first day of orientation I already had a group of 10 or so friends who were also from July Experience. I wasn´t alone. All of this helped ease the transition into college. I never got homesick once and I credit this to the experiences and friendships I made through JE."

- Lindsay, Pennsylvania (current Davidson student)
