Since 1950, the Idyllwild Arts Summer Program, formerly known as ISOMATA, has offered intensive workshops in dance, film, music, theater, visual arts and creative writing to students of all ages and abilities, including families. Our 205-campus is located in the spectacular San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, about 2 hours by car from Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego. 

Workshops for Youth (13-18) include Acting for the Camera, Band (2), Ceramics, Chamber Music, Choir, Computer Animation, Dance, Drawing & Painting, Fiction, Filmmaking, Jazz, Jewelry, Musical Theatre, Photography, Orchestra (2), Piano, Poetry, Screenwriting, Theatre, Video Production and World Arts.  Most workshops are two weeks long.  Some programs require an audition for admission.

Workshops for Children (9-13) are 1-2 weeks long  and include Art From Many Cultures, Ceramics, Creative Discoveries, Dance, Drawing What You See, Graphic Storytelling (comics), Magic of Art,  Musical Theatre, Painting & Drawing, Photography, Piano, Shakespeare’s World, Theatre Adventures, Theatre of Myth and Writing For You.

The summer culminates with a gala student performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
