Study
For two weeks in June-July, high school students will be welcomed to the island of Lesvos (or Mytilene), Greece, a center of learning since ancient times and a bridge between Europe and Asia. Here, they will attend two classes of their choice (see website for complete listings), travel extensively throughout the island, and participate in community service projects each afternoon. All classes will be taught in English by university instructors.

Travel
Hyphenology stresses the importance of cultural understanding. While students will be taking academic subjects of their choice, the travel part of the program immerses them into Greek culture through daily excursions to the island's ancient sites, villages, museums, monasteries and the day trip across the Aegean to Ayvalik .

Community Service
In addition to their studies and travel, students will also participate in community service projects each afternoon. Hyphenology works with local environmental organizations, the center for children with special needs, and the Petrified Forest Museum.

Students will leave Lesvos having enhanced their thinking skills and cultural understanding and having bonded with students from across the globe.
