Friendly Pines Camp
Nestled in the tall, cool pines of Prescott, Arizona, Friendly Pines Camp shares its 70 years of camping experience with boys and girls, ages 6-13. Campers choose from a list of over 30 activities that are not only fun, but are also designed to encourage learning, promote independence, build self-esteem, and stimulate creativity.

Friendly Pines is accredited through the American Camp Association (ACA) and a member of the Western Association for Independent Camps (WAIC).

Activities Inlclude:
Horses. Horseback activities have been a prominent part of life at Friendly Pines Camp since our founding. We offer instruction in Western Riding, English Riding, Pony Driving, Bareback Riding, Vaulting, and Horse Care.

Waterfront Acitivities. We teach waterskiing and wakeboarding right here on our own private lake. It's not a great big lake, but we're the only one's on it - and in Arizona, that's something special. At Goldwater Lake, just a mile from camp, we teach campers to kayak and canoe. We offer instructional swimming in our new pool. If you just want to splash around, however, we've scheduled in plenty of time for recreational swims.

Climbing and Ropes Course Program.  Our climbing program is very popular. It utilizes a comprehensive ropes course that includes both high and low elements, perfectly suited for training and for confidence building. Our 35' climbing wall can accommodate three climbers at one time. Climbing is offered at all age levels. Local sites offer excellent opportunities for bouldering and rappeling. We even have an excellent rock formation right here on the grounds that provides a challenging low rappel for our youngest campers.

Plus Tennis, Riflery, Archery, Soccer/Land Sports, Campcraft, Arts and Crafts, Performing Arts, Fishing, Animal Care, Outdoor Living Skills, Rocketry, Drama, Tumbling/Gymnastics, and much much more.

Facilities
The camp has dining, sleeping and activity areas available for over 300 people. Rustic and sturdy redwood cabins with indoor bathrooms provide amply for sleeping space, in cabin groups of 4 to 8, depending on age.

A sanitary, modern kitchen serves delicious meals family-style in the Dining Lodge. The Kiva is where arts, crafts, gymnastics, dance and drama activities take place, and frequently is the site of evening activities. The Infirmary, where a camp nurse is always on duty, offers a bright and cheerful retreat if first aid or bed rest for minor indisposition is needed.
