Sally Ride Science Camps encourage girls' interests in science by giving them hands-on science learning and activities in an environment that is designed to be supportive, enriching, and – most importantly – fun! Education Unlimited® has partnered with Sally Ride Science, founded by America’s first woman in space, to provide innovative science programs for middle school girls. These unique, overnight camps provide girls an opportunity to explore science, technology, and engineering.
Science Majors allow girls to choose an area of focus during some activities at camp. Each major will include several small labs and a significant culminating project. This year, girls will choose from:
- Astronomy (Water Rockets Project)
- Marine Science (Creative Creatures Project)
- Robotics (Robotics Challenge Project)
- Engineering (Building Challenge Project)
Enrichment Activities in the afternoons and evenings give girls an opportunity for informal science learning, as well as leadership and problem-solving training, through workshops, experiments, guest speakers, and recreational activities. Students will also attend a mid-program excursion to a local science venue such as science museums or the Exploratoreum.

If you are 13 or older, you can also fill out this form to send them email.

Sally Ride Science Camps for girls entering grades 4-9! What the scientists say:
- “No other experience could compare. Every girl should have this opportunity. I’m planning on coming back.” Michelle Reese, 2006 Camper
- “It’s stereotyped as a ‘geek’ or ‘nerd’ camp, but it’s really not. The counselors really made the camp exciting.’” – Elin Kindig, 2006 Camper
- “All the Marine Science Girls went tide pooling and we found starfish, sea urchins, crabs, and we even went to the beach! It was great!” – Dominique Oliveira, 2007 Camper
- “Danika actually did the dissection with us, and she got her hands fishy. I have never met another teacher who would do that. She made learning Marine Science fun!” – Alina Simon, 2007 Camper
