A Study Abroad Experience Will Change Your Life!

Join Edu-Culture International (ECI) for the experience of a lifetime! Travel with us to France, Spain or Costa Rica for 3-4 weeks, take intensive language classes, live with a host family or in a dorm, and make new friends from all over the world.

We offer you the opportunity to change your life in a few short weeks! Experience local culture and have authentic interactions you'll never forget. Students can earn university credit while abroad. Build your future college application in a fun, safe, and challenging setting.

Who We Are:

Based in Berkeley, California, Edu-Culture International works in conjunction with AGI, a non-profit educational travel organization. With additional offices in Europe & Costa Rica, we are dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding between young people throughout the world.

ECI’s staff and volunteers are highly trained professionals with a background in education who have successfully organized educational travel programs in Spain, France, Costa Rica & the US since 1998. Our ECI team ensures that our programs are safe, of exceptional quality, and focus on interesting and educational activities.

Each of our summer trips has a maximum of 30 students, with 3 full-time experienced chaperones. Our chaperones are selected on the basis of language ability, maturity, patience, judgment, enthusiasm, personal integrity and their ability to earn the respect and trust of our teenage participants. Most of them are high school Spanish or French teachers who have traveled abroad extensively, and all are committed to giving each individual participant an enriching, fun and safe experience.

Our Immersion Host Families - A unique feature of our trips:

Immersion Host Families are chosen personally by ECI in conjunction with our large network of high school teachers with whom we work in Spain and France. These families are often comprised of mother, father and in most cases teenagers. When students live with these families, they spend their time interacting with the family, the family’s children and friends of the children. This is an excellent opportunity to become immersed in a country’s traditions, language and culture, while at the same time forming lifelong friendships. Students stay one to a family, other than in cases of extenuating circumstances.

Our 2010 summer programs are listed below. Please visit our website (http://www.educulture.org/programs/index.html) or call us (866-343-8990) for more details, application materials, and phone numbers and/or email addresses of former participants and parents.
