At Camp Walden, our campers experience the best friendships that they have ever made and explore new challenges and new adventures. They have the opportunities to excel in sports, the arts, theater and most importantly, in life. Our goal is that they enjoy the greatest summer...every summer.
Camp Walden is located in the heart of the Adirondacks, set on pristine Trout Lake. It is just a 3 hour drive from the metro NY area and minutes from Lake George, a popular NY vacation destination. Our campers enjoy structured, well rounded programs, as well as weekly optional periods. During these optional periods campers can choose additional activities from a wide variety of athletic, adventure, performing or creative arts, and waterfront activities. Camp Walden offers a full season 7-week session, a 4-week session and a 2-week session for our first time campers.
Camp Walden has been welcoming campers from the US, Canada and the world for 75 years and is accredited by the American Camp Association.
At Camp Walden, we work to nurture the development of all of our campers as we assist them in building strong relationships, strengthening their self-worth, and challenging themselves to gain new skills. It is our goal that they approach the future with more courage and confidence due to the experiences that they have at camp.
Our Camp Staff
At Camp Walden we take great pride in our staff, and the strong commitment that they have to children. We have both cabin specialists, that are with their campers throughout each day and also activity specialists that focus on instruction at specific specialty areas. Many of our counselors have grown up at camp and understand deeply the wonderful impact of a Camp Walden summer experience. Others have joined us as adults but return each year as part of the Walden family. We boast a return rate for staff of approximately 70%. Our staff members are professionals that ensure that our campers are active, safe and happy. They are excellent role models and incredibly nurturing care givers.
