UNFORGETTABLE JOURNEYS

School vacations are both a time to take a break from routines and an opportunity to move beyond the classroom and explore life through experience. Brighton international programs are tailored for high school students who want to take advantage of spring and summer break to travel with people their own age, develop fluency in foreign languages, and experience new places and cultures in ways that move beyond tourism.

This summer, we hope you’ll do more than visit another country. We invite you to sit down to breakfast with your French family, spend an afternoon shopping with French teenagers, and visit some of the most beautiful areas of France with new friends from around the US. These are the kinds of daily experiences that bring busy lives back into perspective, develop confidence and turn a summer trip into an unforgettable, life-changing journey.

Compare Brighton travel and study abroad programs with even less complete trips costing $1,500-$3,000 more, and you’ll discover that Brighton programs are the best value in summer study abroad.

PARIS

All of Brighton’s French immersion programs include three nights in Paris and transportation to and from the program location by TGV bullet train.  Each day features a full schedule of visits, free time in interesting quartiers, and special evening events. Highlights include visits to the Eiffel Tower , the Champs Elysées, Orsay & Louvre Museums , Arc de Triomph, Latin Quarter, Notre Dame Cathedral, Montmartre, the Pompidou Center , and an Illuminated Seine River Cruise.

PROGRAM LOCATIONS

Montpellierthe warmth of southern France

Montpellier is one of the world’s great university towns. More than 60,000 students live and study in Montpellier , where the average age is just 25 and nearby beaches offer a "Mediterranean" college experience. It is Brighton’s most urban location in —recommended for students looking for a mid-size city with plenty of shopping, entertainment options, and urban bustle along with close proximity to Mediterranean beaches. French classes in Montpellier are offered for students at all levels, from beginning to advanced.

St. Malo—the heart of the Brittany coast

St. Malo is without question one of ’s most charming coastal cities. During the summer months, it is a popular holiday destination for French families attracted by the city’s striking beauty, wide sandy beaches and mild summer weather. The streets of the historic walled city, lined with shops and café terraces, bustle with shoppers and street performers, and the broad ramparts that circle the city offer up unbelievable views of the coast.

St. Malo is recommended for students who have studied French for at least one year and who want to complement their French classes and homestay with extensive travel. Medieval Rennes, the turn-of-the century charm of Dinard, the Mont St. Michel, the Normandy landing beaches and a fantastic weekend traveling through the Loire Valley make this Brighton’s most varied itinerary.

Cannes—the lure of the Côte d’Azur

During the sunny summer months, vacationers from around the world are attracted to Cannes for its sandy beaches, lively town center and the chic hotels and boutiques that line the famous Croisette. As Brighton’s largest summer campus, Cannes offers the greatest number of French levels and so is an ideal choice for beginning through advanced students. Cannes is also Brighton’s only French program offering residential campus housing rather than homestays and a compact 18-day itinerary makes Cannes our most affordable French immersion option. A seaside campus just steps from the beach, studying with students from around the world, and an excursion itinerary that includes the best of the Riviera guarantee an exciting and unforgettable study abroad experience.

Biarritz—the surfing capital of Europe

The city of Biarritz is situated on one of the most spectacular stretches of coastline on the French Atlantic. Its safe streets, laid-back surf culture, and location at the heart of the Basque region also make it an ideal location for a homestay immersion experience. Although Biarritz is the smallest of our study abroad locations in , it is abuzz with activity in the summer months as vacationers, surfers and beachgoers descend upon the town from all over Europe , more than doubling its population.

Biarritz is recommended for students who have studied French for at least one year and enjoy outdoor activities like rafting, hiking, water sports and relaxing with friends at the beach. This program also features cross-border excursions into Spain .
