ASA in Barcelona is designed for students who have had at least one year of high school Spanish and combines the advantages of a Spanish immersion and a pre-college program. Students live in a state-of-the-art University residence and take classes at the Casa Convalescència, part of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). ASA students participate in daily language courses and select one cultural elective that meets twice a week. Courses are combined with daily afternoon and evening activities, intramural sports and weekend excursions. Students improve their Spanish while also having the opportunity to gain confidence, independence and individual responsibility through living and learning within a pre-college environment.

SPANISH IN ESPAÑA (Nerja, Cádiz, Conil, Tarifa, Sanlúcar)

Spanish in España is the leading Spanish language immersion program for high school students. It consists of a month-long homestay combined with classroom based language study, daily activities and weekend excursions throughout Andalusia . Spanish in España is designed for students who have had at least two years of high school Spanish. The combination of intensive formal language instruction with real life immersion in the life and culture of helps students to achieve fluency and confidence in the language and gain an intimate knowledge and relationship with . Through living closely with a family, students quickly become adjusted and find themselves speaking Spanish more easily than they ever thought possible.

The city of Nice, situated in the center of France’s fabulous Mediterranean coastline—the Côte d’Azur—is the site of ASA’s four-week residential French language and culture program. The program stresses active learning, individualized instruction in small classes, and cultural enrichment. During nearly four weeks studying in Nice, you’ll discover many unique opportunities to combine classroom study of the French language and its culture with experiences of day-to-day life in . It’s a challenging program that encourages exploration, develops independence, and provides a foundation for academic success and personal discovery.

ROYAN

ASA in Royan is a homestay program offering high school students intensive French language instruction complemented by the opportunity to explore some of ’s most beautiful countryside and immerse themselves in French culture as part of a French family. The program is located in the coastal resort town of Royan, circled by the wine region of Bordeaux , and the charming seaside region of Poitou-Charentes. It’s an ideal backdrop for the homestay experience, which is sure to be the most rewarding element of your summer in Royan .

ASA in Florence is an intensive interdisciplinary program focusing on the arts and the humanities that gives you daily exposure to urban Florentine life through classes and activities. You will live and study in the beautiful 16^th century palace Convitto della Calza. Ideally situated in the Oltrarno district in the heart of Florence close to the Pitti Palace and Ponte Vecchio.
