College Admission Prep Camp (grades 11-12)
Our experienced instructors employ Test Scholars' proven curriculum, which familiarizes students with the actual test, teaches test-taking strategies, and develops sound reasoning skills. Essay Writing Every student gets hours of one-on-one consulting with expert writing instructors. You and your Writing Instructor discuss topics for your Personal Statement, the structure, style and grammatical aspects of the essay and go over drafts and revisions together in your individual sessions. College Guidance The counseling component of the CAPC helps students identify schools best suited for them, and covers the development of time management and interviewing skills. **** NEW! This year, we are excited to offer CAPC Resort at Club Med. Held at the Sandpiper Resort in Port St. Lucie, Florida, students can go on a luxury resort vacation while going through Education Unlimited’s comprehensive College Admission Prep Camp curriculum. **** * CAPC Intensive *is a longer, 18-day version of our College Admission Prep Camp, created because some students are highly motivated and would benefit from a more advanced and extensive version of our 11-day program. PSAT Prep Students usually go into the PSAT with little or no preparation. Prep Camp Excel seeks to offer the same type of strategy and preparation that usually is reserved for the SAT. Our exclusive curriculum teaches math and verbal skills as well as vocabulary building. Essay Writing Writing compelling essays is not only critical to getting good grades, but one of the most important skills a student can take away from high school. At Prep Camp Excel students have the opportunity to work individually with teachers. Each student at the camp will bring home one of the best essays they have ever written, and the knowledge of how to write more essays like it. Study Skills The Study Skills portion of the program helps students deal with the transition from one hour of homework in junior high to balancing several hours of homework and extracurricular activities in high school. Students will receive instruction on time management, effective note taking, reading for meaning, and exam preparation East Coast College Tour: Participants are encouraged to enroll with friends or join alone and make friends as you spend a week traveling through four East Coast cities, visiting neighborhoods and college campuses. Campus destinations include Harvard, Boston College, NYU, Tufts, Boston University, Yale, Brown, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown and others. Students will take campus tours, meet with admissions officers, and receive materials to help them evaluate schools. For more information ...
