Discover the Power of Summer

Searching for new academic challenges? Trying to strengthen your résumé for the college admissions process? Longing for a taste of the college life … but still in high school? Then discover the power of summer at Boston University Summer Term!

Boston University has what you're looking for. Choose from two exciting residential summer programs that will make for your best summer yet.

High School Honors Program:
A six-week residential program for rising high school seniors. Choose between General Honors and Research Internship in Science and Engineering. General Honors students can earn up to eight college credits by taking two courses selected from all those offered during Boston University's Summer Session 2. Research Interns explore intensive research projects in science or engineering under the supervision of a faculty mentor.

Summer Challenge Program:
A two-week, non-credit residential program for rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. Enroll in two academic seminars selected from creative writing, persuasive speaking, business, visual arts, law, and science. Receive an orientation to college level work in a noncompetitive environment.

Class and lab work are only a part of what the programs have to offer. Summer is about adventures, and you’ll explore the city of Boston immersing yourself in its history and culture. By living all together in the residence hall on campus, you’ll have a community of peers with whom to share the summer.

Expand your mind with challenging courses that will introduce you to the academic rigors of college. Expand your world by getting to know other motivated students from around the country and the globe. Expand your experiences by catching a baseball game at Fenway Park, shopping on Newbury Street, or eating clam chowder at Faneuil Hall.
